Don Jackson - Owner

Don and Rebecca Jackson opened Ouachita Outdoor Outfitters in December 5th, 1997 after having worked several years in the medical field, Don as a respiratory therapist and Rebecca as a nurse. Don had spent the previous 12 years in medical sales. His love for the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and hiking inspired him to open a store here in Hot Springs, the gateway into The Ouachita National Forest. Some interesting info about Don, he's a big kayak fisher with the CAKA and the KBA of Central Arkansas. He participates in Kayak tournaments. He was born an army brat, lived in California, then he came back to Arkansas and graduated from UCA. Rebecca graduated from the local nursing program, and is hot springs born and raised. They have three children and four grand children. To describe Don best, just look at the store logo. It’s a look and an attitude, don't get outdoors without us, do it with a local, its what we do. "that pretty much describes me" - Don
